What you'll do:
The Telecommunications Specialist installs, maintains and evaluates the company's telecommunications hardware and software.
This position also reviews vendor support contracts and vendor tariffs.
Your job will include:
Maintain all voice and data communications, including the verification of proper device functioning.
Supervise all voice and data network design, control and programming of various systems.
Anticipate voice and data hardware and software needs to plan, budget and monitor the company's voice communications usage.
Administer the acquisition and placement of telephones, pagers, cellular phones and two-way radios.
Collaborate with the Technology Manager and Network Engineer with respect to voice and data security access through telecommunications.
Provide programming, support and maintenance of company voice mail systems.
Log service calls and maintain a log of corrective actions initiated on agency phone systems and reports.
Maintain and develop Information Systems department network diagrams and floor layouts.
Provide project management for new hardware installations of phone and data communications systems.
Monitor phone system consoles and interact with users to maintain optimum operating environments.
Collaborate with vendors to provide voice and data communications recommendations for the company's information systems technology needs.
Pull voice and data cables and plan the configuration of cable topology for a multi-facility organization.
Identify and provide solutions to phone system operational problems.
Administer after-hours responsibilities to ensure all-hours system availability.
Execute solid judgment and make independent decisions.
Experience & skills you'll need:
High school diploma, or the equivalent.
Associate's degree in Information Systems preferred.
T2 Limited Electrical Journeyman license.

years of experience with PBX and Switch phone system programming in a multiple facility agency.
Knowledge of various phone system architectures and capabilities, including the ability to troubleshoot system malfunctions.
Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to adapt quickly to shifting company objectives and prioritize accordingly.
Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly confidential information.
