We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our MBSE Systems Development and MBSE Design & Model Management business capabilities team.
In this role, you will serve as the systems engineer/capability owner for the team that will transform, deliver, and sustain these capabilities (capability = process/data
people/organization
technology) in alignment with MBSE methodologies and best practices.
As the Gore Medical Products Division seeks to transform our approach to product development through the implementation of systems engineering capabilities, you will need to apply your expertise in these capabilities to prioritize the work of the team and maximize the value delivered by these capabilities to the division.
This position offers multiple work arrangements:
on-site at our facility in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona, hybrid or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Define and communicate the objectives and key results for the Systems Development business capability and the Design & Model Management business capability in alignment with the MBSE program strategy Provide expertise around the corresponding processes and the necessary links between those processes to help the team navigate the ambiguity of developing new capabilities for the division Evaluate and drive progress towards the MBSE program strategy through monitoring, communicating, refining, and responding to relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for the corresponding capabilities Maximize the value delivered by the team through eliciting, managing, and prioritizing the process, data, people/organization, and technology development tasks in the capability backlog in partnership with stakeholders and subject matter experts Drive a clear, shared understanding of the development tasks (process, data, people, and technology) for the team and extended team to ensure stakeholder needs are met Ensure industry standards and best practices around systems engineering and risk-based design are consistently incorporated into the deliverables and development tasks of the team Seek feedback on the processes, technology, and training delivered for the capabilities and continuously prioritize and resolve issues with the capabilities, escalating issues where needed Collaborate with MPD Transformation partners and IT to develop the requirements to deliver effective digital tools, digital infrastructure, and digital integrations in support of the business processes for the capability Partner with the organizational change manager to develop and execute a comprehensive change strategy to ensure the successful deployment, adoption, and integration of the capabilities to MBSE customers Champion the Agile methodology in close partnership with the capability leadership team (Project Sponsor, Project Manager, Organizational Chance Manager, and/or Scrum Master) to ensure smooth functioning of the team Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in hands-on engineering work across both new product development and commercial support Experience with establishing a systems architecture to model, describe, or represent the various conceptual views of a system Expert knowledge in applying systems engineering best practices and methodologies across the product lifecycle from the highest-level system down to the manufacturing equipment for a medical device and/or a complex, regulated system Strong understanding of the process and data schemas required to define, execute, and integrate cross-functional, closed-loop design and modeling capabilities (e.
g.
, product, technology, manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment) Familiarity with how system, design, and model artifacts connect to requirements, risk, verification, and validation artifacts Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver outcomes and solutions that successfully meet the needs of the business Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency, including when ambiguity of the work or deliverables is high Demonstrated ability to work and influence in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, including the ability to be personally influenced by other diverse perspectives Ability to travel up to 10%
Qualifications:
Experience with executing or implementing Systems Engineering and/or Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies or best practices Experience with product owner or scrum master responsibilities relative to Agile team methodologies Experience with regulatory requirements and standards in the medical device industry, particularly around product development Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements:
Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
