Claims Technical Expert (Generalist)(TEMP)

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Your SSA-45 must show at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Field Office (FO) and (1) adjudicating, authorizing, investigating or reconsidering claims through face-to-face, telephone, or VSD interviews (2) functioning as a lead worker or performing quality control functions in reviewing caseloads (e.g., income maintenance, benefits, pension plans, health insurance, etc.), (3) adjudicating post-entitlement actions including Continuing Disability and Entitlement Reviews and using software and systems such as Workload Action Center (WAC), SSTNG, and eWork (4) mentoring, reviewing, or providing formal/informal training to FO Claims Specialists (CS) on Social Security laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience in Title II and Title XVI is required. Candidates must describe their Title II and Title XVI experience. Applicants must also meet the following to qualify for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
