After living overseas for a few years, I have returned to the United States to pursue a career with a company that will utilize my skills, abilities and experiences to the fullest potential. Through my diverse employment history I have been able to gather many skills. While living overseas I have expanded my life skills through interactions with many people. My time in the United States Army helped me to grow a strong work ethic. I learned how to create solutions to challenges daily, such as troubleshooting the communications network so that it would function properly. My time in the Army also taught me how to communicate and work with people from diverse backgrounds.

I completed the pre-application questionnaire, and safety screening. With each new applicant I verified identification to establish identity and employment eligibility on Department of Homeland Security form I-9. I entered application information into COAST (database software) and file application for easy retrieval. I also answered multiple phone lines and directed all calls. Each day I updated availability lists, set up interviews over the phone, e-mail and walk in. For new employees I assisted each with obtaining pay card information or direct deposit authorization for the accounting department. I scanned, edited, and attached resumes to applicant’s files.

Assistant Manager and Sales Associate                                           December 2006 - March 2008

I helped customers with the purchase of children and maternity clothing. I also received payments of credit cards and cash, made change when necessary. As a manager I would log the merchandise in and out, and balanced currency, coin, and credit at the end of shift. I helped to coordinated sales promotion activities. As an assistant manager it was my job to supervise employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records and preparing daily records of transactions.

As a real estate agent I studied property listings to become familiar with properties for sale in the Puget Sound area. I reviewed trade journals and attended staff and association meetings to keep informed of market conditions, property values and legislation which would affect real estate industry. I also helped to process requests for new identification cards and tags, orders for temporary duty and travel, personnel processing, personnel Security Clearances, training and reassignment, retention, military and special pay programs, personnel accounting and strength management, transition processing, legal, meal cards, training soldier support file, and unit administration. I would answer telephones, give information to callers and routed calls to appropriate official. This assignment was general office work.

 

United States Army, Active Duty

Multi-Channel Signal Operator and Maintainer, 25Q                                May 2000 - May 2005

As my primary Army job I would install antennae for radio communications, set up metal masts and secured them in place with guy wires and base plates. Once installed, I would program the radios and other equipment with secret information. Daily I executed operations of maintaining equipment. I was responsible for the organization and inventory of over $15 million worth of equipment associated with my unit.

 

G6 Administration and Brigade S1 Clerk, 42A                                  August 2004 - January 2005

I would composed and type routine correspondence. Scheduled appointments, arranged travel schedules and reservations were an important aspect of this position.  I also structured and maintained an appointment calendar. On a daily basis I would prepare notes, correspondence and reports, using Microsoft Word and computer terminal. In general I also would answer telephone calls, give information to callers, took dictation and otherwise relieved officials of clerical work and minor administrative business details.

 

Range Control Area Access Clerk, 42A                                                    August 2003 - April 2004

I assigned an average of 30 individual ranges daily and issued equipment and regulations for use by units to conduct the range. In this position I enabled units deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other undisclosed locations the ability to maximize usage of the ranges.

Conducted daily range safety classes and organized unit files was a part of my daily duties.

I also answered telephones and gave information to callers and routed calls to appropriate official. I greeted visitors, ascertained nature of business, directed visitors to employer and appropriate person, a welcomed guest to Fort Lewis Army Post and issued area access card.

I also had to explain the privileges, obligations and rules to the use of the Fort Lewis training areas, and the proper display of access cards.

I obtained and prepared food items requested by customers in a retail food store. I also totaled customers’ bills, received payments and made change. Part of this job was too prepared and cook foods requiring short preparation time. I also dispensed beverages and bagged or wrapped purchases for customers. I would receive verbal instructions and read over food order slips.

I received and dispersed money, kept records and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions. I would receive checks and cash for deposits, verify the amounts and examined checks for endorsements. At the end of shifts I would balance currency, coin and checks. Another part of this position was to explain, promote and sell such services as traveler’s checks, savings bonds, money orders and cashier’s checks. I used a computer, typewriter, photocopier and check protector to prepare checks and financial documents.
