Vehicle Description 1957 GMC Model 450 Civil Defence Rescue truck.
Six cylinder 302 engine, 5 speed - two speed rear axle.
It shifts easily because it has a synchronized transmission.
The two speed rear axle shifts perfect as it should.
It has only 5310 miles.
It drives great, starts right up.
The brakes have been gone through (new master cylinder, new brake booster, new secondary brake booster, some new hydraulic lines, new wheel cylinders.
It stops on a dime, feels like power brakes in a 1 ton pickup.
23 feet long, 9 feet high, 8 feet wide.
Tires are 22.
5 x 10:
00 tubeless, one piece wheels - not split rims.
Tires are newer and have very few miles.
It has a siren and flashing lights, a speaker system with all of he siren modes.
AlI lights work, New battery.
New spare tire underneath back of truck.
Large PTO driven winch - works.
Currently licensed (antique plates, can be driven anywhere).
It has armstrong steering, I am showing pictures of how it looks now and pictures of what looked like 11 years ago.
Top speed is 60 MPH.
It drives straight down the road, and smooth for a 63 year old truck.
I have the original keys, GMC service manual and GMC parts manual.
I have an Arizona title.
Very solid body, no bondo, a little rust by the front fender and some rust in the hinges and bottom of the back door.
.
Doors work fine and the windows go up and down.
It is a rare truck, only 25 GMC Model 450s were made, most were Diamond REO or Ford.
If you are serious I have more pictures or come take it for a drive.
I was asking $19,450 OBO.
I might consider a trade; example 1936 ford 1 ton express pickup, coins, guns, This truck would be great for a food vendor, or swap meets, or etc.
