Vehicle Description This 1958 Chevrolet Impala is going to have you singing Beach Boys tunes.
It's a custom build with a big 409 V8and yes, there's dual-quads and Positraction, too! Plus, the upgraded interior, overdrive transmission, and more make this sleek hardtop a terrific all-around cruiser.
The 1958 Chevy will always be in demand for its single-year very-wide design.
And this one takes full advantage of that to make an imposing look.
The trim tag tells us this was born a black car, but there was a quality respray later in life.
Deleting the front trim, door handles, and rear badging not only made this car look sleeker, but meaner, too.
The same goes for that full billet-style grille that gives us plenty of '50s-style chrome and a much more commanding face.
Smoothie wheels, distinct side trim w/black insert, and large side exhaust pipes are all part of this street machine kind of style.
The interior is a clean setup that was made for custom comfort.
There's a nice two-tone tweed on the seats and door panels.
Even the headliner was done to match with a cool pattern that mimics the exterior trim.
There are other quality vintage details, right down to the correct rear seat armrest and working dome light.
This was also built for added comfort with well-integrated upgrades like the retro-style AM/FM digital tuner, and power windows were added onto the classic crank handles.
There are also provisions for R134a air conditioning (it likely just needs a recharge to blow cold again.
) Custom coupes like this are built with the driver in mind.
So the classic Impala steering wheel is now on a tilt column.
And beyond that is a full set of crisp Classic Instrument gauges, including a large speedo and tach.
The 1958 Chevrolet introduced big block power to the cars.
While the legendary 409 cubic-inch V8 size was still a few years away when this one was built, we now know the engine bay can accept it with ease.
So that's exactly what they did here for this true street machine style classic.
The upgrade was designed to attract attention with all those polished pieces radiating from within the engine bay's smooth and dark inner walls.
And of course, the bug catcher air grabber really lets them know this is something special even if they don't see the callout.
Underneath is a dual set of Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors that are sitting atop an Edelbrock intake.
This is also supported by the right pieces, like an MSD ignition, upgraded pulleys, and an aluminum radiator.
It fires up nicely while making the right deep tone from the dual exhaust.
You have upgrades like a rear sway bar and a 4.
56 Positraction rear end for quick and confident take-offs.
So you have a dual-quad Positraction 409the only other thing missing from the Beach Boys song is a four-speed.
This has it, but in an updated way.
You now have a four-speed automatic transmission.
It's stout enough to handle the power, and it also gives you easy overdrive cruising.
Combine that with power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you have a coupe built for far more than just fun between the stoplights.
Everything from the big block power to the sleekly dark style makes this Impala a distinct stunner.
So if you like a well-built custom with plenty of attitude, call today!.
