The 2008 and 2009 GT500KRs (with notes comparing to a base GT500) are supercharged V-8 fastback coupes producing 540 horsepower (40 more than the regular GT500), with short-throw shifters, taller 3.
73:
1 limited slip rear axles, unique wheels and tires, lower ride heights (20mm drop in front and 15mm drop in rear), and 17% stiffer SVT-tuned suspensions! The Shelby racing stripes, special badging, vented carbon-fiber composite hood (11-pounds lighter), and polished carbon-fiber splitter (50-pounds of additional down-force) set the KRs apart from the regular GT500s.
The 2008 and 2009 Shelby Mustang GT500KRs were pre-title conversions; as such, their factory window stickers read, NOT LEGAL FOR SALE.
Ford assembled them as special-optioned GT500s in Flat Rock, Michigan, then shipped them by rail to Las Vegas for conversion.
Final assembly of the finished GT500KR was completed by Shelby Automobiles, Inc.
(now Shelby American) in Nevada, before they were delivered to the Ford dealers and made available to the public for purchase.
These Shelby GT500KRs were a true joint-effort between the Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and Shelby Automobiles, Inc.
Just 1,000 units were produced in 2008, but demand for the King of the Road was so great, that Ford green-lighted another year of production with an additional 712 cars in 2009.
Why this car? This beautiful quasi-collector Shelby GT500KR fastback coupe is located in Mesa, Arizona.

Car has a free-and-clear title, and CarFax or AutoCheck will come back clean, clean, clean.
No surprises.
