For Sale: 1979 Cadillac Eldorado in MESA, Arizona for sale in Mesa, AZ

1 of 29
Vehicle Description This is a classic barn find- was in covered indoor storage from 1985-2017, and has just over 14,000 original miles.
Was stored with a car cover in outdoor covered storage since.
It was purchased new at Brooks Cadillac in Scottsdale, and is an original Arizona car.
If restored a bit, would be a Barrett-Jackson quality vehicle.
What NO WAY!! It has to have over 100,000 miles, and have been turned over!! Well, no.
There is much evidence which supports the actual miles as this low.
First, the original Cragar wire wheels with Cadillac caps and Uniroyal TPC SPEC tires used on new cars of this era were still present (tires had mileage-appropriate wear, are damaged and flat, and the wire wheels and tires were replaced with steel rollers with worn tires and no wheel covers).
Spoked wheels shown with slight rust and factory lugs and wheel locks will be included.
Also, the plastic or fiberglass inner fender well flaps are not chipped or damaged, as pictured.
Same with the chrome rocker panels and wheel trim.
In Arizona, a vehicle would have many rock chips in these areas, and would certainly be chewed up & dented.
And the fragile crushed velour upholstery would not survive years of summer heat, let alone from getting in and out of a car in the amount of time it would take to accumulate over 100K miles.
There appears to be zero rust, or close to it, to the body or components.
THIS WAS PURCHASED WITH NO KEYS OR PAPERWORK.
TO MOVE IT, I HAD TO DRILL THE IGNITION SWITCH OUT TO ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO BE TAKEN OUT OF GEAR.
ELECTRIC TRUNK OPENED AND SHUT AND POWER ANTENNA RAISED UP WHEN JUMPER CABLES WERE ATTACHED.
No battery is included.
OTHER THAN THAT, THE CAR IS ALL THERE, WITH NO MISSING PARTS EXCEPT THE IGNITION SWITCH, KEYS, BATTERY, AND CLEAN AIR INTAKE HOSE, WHICH IS BASICALLY PAPER, AND HAS DETERIORATED OVER THE YEARS.
VERY IMPORTANT! It has been registered in the state of Vermont, which is known as America's DMV.
Since it is over 15 years old, Vermont does not issue a title or pink slip.
From my research, it is understood that a registration from this state could allow the car to have a title issued when registered in another locale.
PLEASE Google VERMONT- AMERICA'S DMV OR VERMONT LOOPHOLE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
Buyer is responsible for their own due diligence to check BEFORE PURCHASING if this vehicle can be titled in their state.
It is offered AS-IS, and AS FOUND.
(Please read the full disclaimer below before making a final purchase decision- THIS IS A FINAL SALE, WITH NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS WHATSOEVER).
There has been no effort made to replace the oil and / or fluids and start or turn over the factory 350 Olds engine, I will leave that to the buyer.
There was a pool of transmission fluid on the floor of the storage garage, so the transaxle seals will need to be replaced (this is a common problem with these cars, and the seals usually need replacement every 4-5 years).
Cosmetically, there are small cracks to the lacquer noticed on the roof (as pictured) and light cracking to the vinyl top, which likely will need to be replaced.
The paint also has small areas of rubbing wear from the car cover which would need to be touched up.
Interior headliner has sagged from age, and will need to be replaced.
The prior owner was a heel-toe driver, and there is a spot of wear to the carpet and mat underneath the brake pedal.
Carpet has small common staining, and will need to be shampooed.
It has the standard Cadillac options (power windows & locks, tilt / telescope wheel, air).
This also has a factory Delco AM-FM 8-Track stereo with CB radio.
First $12,500, FIRM.
Personal inspection before purchasing is STRONGLY PREFERRED, to avoid any possible misunderstandings about this vehicle.
