The very best Mercedes that you could buy in this era was the W108/W109 model, the predecessor of what we now know as the S-Class.

5 in 1972 was the highest performing and most luxurious Mercedes available, with the newly designed 4.
5-liter V8 engine under the hood providing more than ample power and torque.
Finished in Horizon Blue (paint code number 304) with beautiful black interior.
We believe that this 280SEL had a repaint once in its life, we just don't know the exact dates.
Consignor stated that this was a garage kept vehicle and there are a few cracks in the dashboard along with scratches on the wood trim at the base of the windshield.
