Vehicle Description This week, Canyon State Classics brings to market a 1997 Volkswagen Eurovan Winnebago camper that is truly one of a kind.
Not only in its configuration and condition, but in its wonderful story and documentation over the years, it was truly a member of the family.
The VW is a three owner with the last two being in the same family over the past 20 years! The final generation of the VW Transporter (T4) was referred to as the EuroVan in the States.
Of all the available trims, the Camper was the top of the line EuroVan and was the only trim with all available camping equipment (unlike the Westfalia, which was a minimalist version of the Camper and lacked most of the camping equipment found on the Camper models).
Key model year changes include:
First year of the VR6 engine, First year of dual airbags as standard, New steering wheel, Glove box is gone, Seat fabric design is updated and Improved interior lighting.
The Camper starts off as a long-wheelbase commercial EuroVan (17 ft long) converted to full Camper spec by Winnebago Industries.
This includes the addition of a pop-up top, two twin beds, seating for up to six, propane-powered refrigerator, propane furnace, stove, sink, dinette table, closet, cabinets, and more.
The driver and passenger seat are designed to swivel around and face the kitchen as well.
Dont miss out on your chance to own a truly versatile and unique all-in-one camper! The following is a list of options as this VW is currently equipped:
-2.
8L VR6:
140 hp -Automatic Transmission -Full Winnebago camper -Non smoking and no pets during entire time of ownership -Clean upholstery, upper and lower cushions, blinds and curtains -New Radial Tires -A/C, door locks, windows, fridge (A/C, DC LP), stove, radio/CD, furnace, water pump, etc.
all work The body on the Van is overall straight and totally solid and rust free.
The exterior is finished in its original color of Alaska white which is gorgeous and was just fully buffed and waxed.
I would describe the overall paint as a very nicely kept paint with a few small imperfections and chips, which have been touched up.
Remember, this paint is over 25 years old, but looks great going down the street and still has a high shine and luster! The car is riding on nice, original wheels and has new radial tires.
All trim, glass, and rubber seals are in good original condition and have not been altered since new.
The pop-top shell sustained a crack on the driver's side more than 10 years ago.
It was professionally repaired/ resealed at that time and has not been an issue since.
The interior is in very good shape all around.
The front seats are in good condition with little ware, which shows the quality of materials used in this car.
The rubber floors are all very nice are not worn or damaged.
The dash is like new and looks great.
All gauges and controls function as they should.
The sound system has been nicely updated to a newer single din head unit.
All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should.
The rear camper area is close to flawless and all cabinets are beautiful and all latches and hinges are in excellent condition.
The sliding-door window surround trim is starting to fall apart.
The bed cushions look freshly nothing is dirty or has any kinds of funny smells or ware.
The pop up canvas is in good shape and zippers still seal everything up.
Original screens do have a few small slits.
The van does come with slew of additional camping items- see pictures for the extras! Mechanically, this VW runs GREAT! The van starts right up and shifts smooth as silk.
A lot of time and money was spent under the hood of this little Bus.
This van was owned by an engineer and has always been very well maintained.
In the last 5k miles the van has had the following items replaced or serviced:
battery, tie rods, alignment, tires, spark plugs, trans fluid service, new house battery and plug wires.
We have put the van through our shop for an inspection, lof and new shocks all around.
This thing is ready for its next road trip! All in all, this is truly one of the coolest VW Campers on the road today.
Its early vintage sets it apart from all of the others.
It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
This is your chance to get a like new classic camper for a fraction of the original cost.
The car has a clean Arizona title.

The van is located in Sunny Tempe, Arizona.
